Summary
Mushrooms and Toadstools is a two-day coloured pencil course focused on capturing the rich colours and textures of woodland fungi. Students will explore layering and blending techniques to create depth, subtle shading, and realistic surfaces. The course will also cover drawing delicate details such as gills, stems, and forest-floor textures. Using reference images, participants will develop a finished piece while gaining confidence with coloured pencils in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Description
This is a two day course that will show you how to draw mushrooms and toadstools with coloured pencil. Using demonstrations and working from photographs supplied by the tutor, you will be shown how each technique can be achieved. The course will be run in a friendly and relaxed manner and is an ideal way of moving on to other subjects where coloured pencil can be used.
Aimed at students of all abilities, especially beginners and students with some knowledge.
Please bring with you
A pad or a couple of sheets of smooth, white drawing paper. A4 in size.
Hot pressed watercolour paper is a good surface to work on but good quality drawing paper will suffice.
One medium size pack of artists quality coloured pencils (Derwent, Faber Castel, Caran Dache, Lyra or WH Smith). As many different colours as possible.
If you have watercolour pencils then these can also be used dry.
