Summary
Birds on Water with coloured pencil is a two-day drawing course exploring how to draw water birds with realism and colour. Students will learn techniques for layering coloured pencils, blending tones, and capturing feather texture. The course also focuses on reflections, ripples, and the movement of water around birds. Using reference images of a Black Swan and an Avocet, participants will develop a finished drawing while building confidence in colour, shading, and composition in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Description
This is a two day course that will show you how to draw birds on water with coloured pencil on grey and blue board (supplied by your tutor). Using demonstrations and working from photographs supplied by the tutor, you will be shown how each technique can be achieved.
The course will be run in a friendly and relaxed manner and is an ideal way of moving on to other subjects where coloured pencil can be used.
Aimed at students of all abilities, especially beginners and students with some knowledge.
Please bring with you
One medium size pack of artists quality coloured pencils (Derwent, Faber Castel, Caran Dache, Lyra or WH Smith). As many different colours as possible.
If you have watercolour pencils then these can also be used dry.
Pencil sharpener,
2B & 4B (or softer) pencil,
