Summary

In this three day course you will learn how to create linocuts using the reduction method, which allows you to incorporate lots of colours into your prints using just one block.

Description

This course is ideal for those looking to gain a greater understanding of the processes involved in linocut. Suitable for all levels, including those new to printmaking who are very welcome.

Please bring with you

Drawing materials - e.g. pencils, rubber, pens
Drawing paper or sketchbook (to work on your design in)
Source material, such as your own photographs and sketches, to help you create an image to print
Apron
Box/packet of latex gloves (to help you keep your hands clean when you're inking up and printing). Baby wipes are also useful for cleaning your hands

The following items can be purchased from your tutor

Some materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £15 each (including lino block, ink, good quality printing paper, newsprint paper), payable to the tutor during the course.

Jessica Rose has exhibited her prints widely, including with the Society of Women Artists at London's Mall Galleries, and in the Royal Academy’s summer exhibitions. She lives in Shropshire with a very large etching press and her cats Gizmo and Wrigglesworth.
