Summer Meadow Flowers and Bees and Vibrant Irises in WatercolourCourse Full
Tutor: Nicky Hunter Course Code: 3322-04

Summary

Spend two days painting vibrant loose and lively watercolours with expression chasing the light and aiming for transparent and lustrous colours. We will look at summer meadow flowers and bees and also vibrant irises.

Description

Summer meadow flowers and bees
On day one we will create a  watercolour painting of summer meadow flowers aiming to capture light and translucency.  You will learn how to accomplish white flowers with breezy effortless brushstrokes, and even include the bustling activity of bees, which are always an enchanting combination of flower and insect to paint especially in this lively expressive painting style.

Vibrant irises
Day two will be spent capturing the vibrant character of ever popular radiant irises elegantly swaying in the breezy sunlight.  Use similar painting techniques to the previous day and continue learning more new methods, watercolour methods and tips including how to go bigger in scale, how to gain vibrant colours and keep the feeling of translucency and trap the feeling of sunlight in your painting.

Nicky will demonstrate the stages of a painting and watercolour techniques which you will then use yourself during the workshop to create your own painting in an impressionistic and contemporary watercolour style.  Nicky will give one to one guidance and support to help your painting skills progress and loosen up your style to achieve lively lucid paintings.  You can transfer the tips, tricks and knowledge Nicky offers to many subject matters in watercolour.
