Unleash your creativity as you paint and print your own unique papers and backgrounds, experimenting with colours, textures and mark making using a variety of techniques. Then use the papers for collage before adding stitch with free machine embroidery creating your own unique artworks. This course is suitable for all levels of experience as full instruction will be given. You will need your own sewing machine and be able to lower the feed dogs.
One the first day of this course you will be using acrylic paints and inks to create a variety of papers exploring colour, tone and composition. We will explore colour mixing and use a variety of different techniques such as printing and collage to build up a range of surfaces to use for collage.
On day two, we will cut up and arrange the papers created on day one to make beautiful unique artworks before adding the additional element of stitch using free machine embroidery.
