Summary
This is a two day course that aims to introduce students to drawing portraits of birds of prey with coloured pencil. The course will practice a variety of pencil techniques including using the pencils on different surfaces. The tutor will demonstrate each exercise step by step in a relaxed and friendly manner, showing you how to draw eyes, beaks, feathers and other features of birds of prey.
Description
This is a two day course that aims to introduce students to drawing birds of prey portraits with coloured pencil. Skills and techniques will include colour mixing, layering, blending, how to create the texture of feathers and working on black paper. This is an ideal course for students who have coloured pencils but do not know how to use them and is a good stepping stone to other courses that use the same medium and subject matter. By the end of the weekend you will have produced a couple of drawings.
Please bring with you
A set of good quality coloured pencils such as Derwent, Faber Castell, Lyra, Caran D'Ache or WH Smith
1 x A4 (or equivalent size) pad or a couple of sheets of good quality drawing (Cartridge) paper. If bringing sheets then you will need a small board to tape them to.
