This is a machine embroidery workshop using foot on, teeth up techniques as well as free machining. Master stitches and control your machine producing some fabulously rich collaged surfaces. The resulting fabric can be made up into any project you like, from cushions and notebook covers to even garments - but a pattern for a handbag will be included in the workshop fee. This is ideal for beginners but challenging enough for those with experience too.
The weekend will start by building up a background fabric using collage techniques and with the foot on/teeth up on the machine. We will then progress to free machine embroidery adding decorative elements to the backgrounds, continuing to add different stitches and fabrics until we have built up a rich decorative textured background. These can then be made up into beautiful unique handbags (pattern will be provided) or into a project of your choice.
